De vuelta en el país de la Pura Vida

Here are some of the first shots of the last couple of days. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I did and may these images brighten and warm up the long cold winter days in the other part of the world...

Back to Costa Rica...

So almost two weeks ago I got back in the beautiful (and it's a small word to describe it) Costa Rica, and more precisely, in the coastal community of Bahía Ballena, two steps away from the Osa Peninsula. This tropical country is well known for it's biodiversity, the animals, birds and lush jungles being all over the place and making it as paradisiac as it is.

I had already experienced this sense of magic last winter when I spent 6 months here, working as an intern and photographer at Bodhi Surf School, and this brought me back here for another 5 months this year, trading the european cold and snow for tropical heat and waves.

Like everywhere else in the world, every single morning when you wake up it's a whole new and different day. Sometimes being into a working-sleeping-working mode makes you forget about the magic of life and makes you forget being thankful for what life gives to you.

Being here, surrounded by nature made me realise how disconnected we can be. It made me realise how much wonders are around us and how important it is to open your eyes, ears and mind to all those things. I also noticed how little you need to be happy. I learned how to simplify life and make the most out of it, through experiences instead of belongings, to connecting with nature instead of watching tv, to listen to the sound of the rain, to feel the rain, to love the rain.

Going back to photography... As a photographer I am always paying attention to what happens around me, always chasing for the perfect light or the perfect combination of elements but also just enjoying the most simple views and situations. Capturing it makes me live the moment twice, or even more. First, I see and feel the moment, second I visualize the perfect shot, I make it and then afterwards I work my photos through. And... most important is I love doing it.

Namaste
